Our Story

We created Bare Alternatives with the intent to lower single-use plastic through the use of sustainable products. This vision sprouted when an engineer and an ecologist collaborated with a vision to improve the ecosystem we all share.  

As kids who grew up in Southeast Asia, the concept of incorporating bamboo and coconut into our lives was prevalent. Since bamboo and coconut were abundant and plentiful, people around us considered them gifts from Mother Nature. In addition to using them as a source of food, the byproducts were transformed into various wares. 

Coming to America, we realized the abundant use of plastic in our daily lives. This posed a big issue as plastic cannot be recycled back into our carbon cycle, disturbing nature's natural recycling system. As a result, we thought back to our childhood where utilizing natural products was a lifestyle. Ultimately, this is why we founded Bare Alternatives; to share our way of life.
